Homeward Bound (5 Days to Go)

Over the last three weeks we have nearly crossed our entire country. We made it as far as Montreal this time around, where we took a few days off and spent some time wasting money on expensive poutine and apricot beer. We braved the big city of Toronto during the NXNE Festival, met some incredible people and an incredible cat. We braved an all-nighter from Lethbridge to Saskatoon which we regretted pretty much immediately after arriving in Saskatoon with no place to stay and so were forced to live a day as vagrant gypsies brushing our teeth and sleeping in public parks. We played our first shows in most of the provinces we visited and have been incredibly lucky to have played for some fresh faced enthusiastic crowds and with some incredibly talented musicians we now get to call friends.

5 days till home now, writing this from a Super 8 in beautiful Kenora ON where we are planning on taking full advantage of the complimentary coffee and cereal selection (God how I have missed Fruit Loops). Having lived on the road for nearly a month now it’s strange to think that we have lives waiting for us in Victoria: Day jobs, commitments, rent, family, friends etc. seem a little foreign to us now after living on the road where everyday is incredibly different from the next, with no real set routine. That being said there’s another part of us that desperately misses the mountains, and all the old familiars home has to offer.

We play our next show in Regina with We Are The City, Hannah Epperson and Indigo Joseph at the Artful Dodger on the 19th! Been pretty pumped for this show since the beginning of our trip. The all-night drive to Cranbrooke on the other hand, doesn’t evoke too much excitement. Wish us luck on that adventure. :)

Much love and thanks

The Archers

It's spelt Cranbrook, for the record, that's my home town. Have fun. Can't wait to see you in Kelowna!
